Arkefly appoints Direct Maintenance for MBA and ZNZ

An Arkefly B767-300, supported by Direct Maintenance in Mombasa and Zanzibar

As per the upcoming 2011/2012 Winter Season, Dutch carrier Arkefly (TUI Airlines Nederland) will commence B767-300 flights into Mombasa (Kenya) and Zanzibar (Tanzania) to fly Dutch holiday makers to these beautiful African destinations. Direct Maintenance, the only EASA Part-145 line maintenance station at both airports, has been contracted to provide the technical support on site.

According to Roger Meels, Techncial Director with Direct Maintenance : "We are keen to see our existing customer and fellow Dutch airline Arkefly increase its fleet while expanding its global reach, making many interesting new destinations available for the Dutch travelling public. With Direct Maintenance already supporting the various sister airlines within the TUI Travel group in either Mombasa or Zanzibar, Arkefly will be in good company, together with Thomson Airways, Corsairfly and Jetairfly for example."
