Direct Maintenance opens Nairobi (NBO) line station

The devoted Direct Maintenance team at Nairobi (NBO) Jomo Kenyatta Airport in front of Qatar Airways' A320

22 June 2012: In an effort to meet its growing customer requirements, Direct Maintenance has officially opened its next line station at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, in Nairobi, Kenya, three letter code NBO.

According Roger Meels, Technical Director: "Direct Maintenance is active in Kenya since 6 years at the coastal city of Mombasa. Expanding to the capital Nairobi, an important economical and logistical hub in East-Africa, is the result of our loyal customers requesting such. Our large splendid facilities are setting a new standard, facilitating an optimum work environment for our staff. We look very much forward providing our esteemed airline clients a highly dedicated service at Nairobi, which will also allow us to create more engineering jobs in the country of Kenya. We further wish to take this opportunity to thank the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) as well as Kenya Airport Authority (KAA) for their constructive cooperation".

The NBO line station of Direct Maintenance has capability for the following aircraft models in line with EASA Part-145 regulations:

  • B777
  • MD11

The initial launch customers include :

  • Air Atlanta Icelandic (B742F and B744F)
  • Qatar Airways (A320 and B777F)
  • Condor Flugdienst (B767)
